Possibili
incarichi non operativi in F2i e corsa alla presidenza di Telecom Italia
In
un’intervista rilasciata al Sole 24 Ore, l’Amministratore Delegato di F2i,
Vito Gamberale, rivela alcuni dei sui progetti per il futuro.
Attualmente in corsa per la presidenza del Telecom Italia ma, ci tiene a
precisare, “per il momento punto al ruolo di consigliere: il resto si vedrà”,
Vito Gamberale starebbe preparando, assieme agli azionisti di riferimento, la
sua successione in F2i. In vista di un terzo fondo, che avrà, come i due che lo
hanno preceduto, un orizzonte temporale di 15 anni, ed in prossimità di
compiere 70 anni, Vito Gamberale ha deciso che è giunta l’ora di mettere al
servizio la sua esperienza quarantennale nelle infrastrutture, nelle
telecomunicazioni e nella finanza per ruoli non operativi, all’interno della
Società di Gestione del Risparmio che egli stesso ha contribuito a costituire
nel 2007, da un’idea maturata ai tempi in cui era alla guida di Autostrade
(2000-2006). Non una rottura, dunque, ma una scelta all’insegna della
continuità, per un progetto nel quale ha sempre creduto con convinzione.
L’intervista,
realizzata dal vice direttore del quotidiano, Alessandro Plateroti, affronta
anche alcune tematiche d’attualità, in vista dell’Assemblea del 16 aprile di
Telecom Italia, per la quale è previsto il rinnovo del Consiglio
d’Amministrazione. Marco Fossati, a capo del gruppo Findim, ha presentato un
piano strategico per il rilancio della società di telecomunicazioni attraverso
tre linee d’azione, avvalendosi della Analysis Mason, a cui è stata affiancata
la consulenza della Boudicca Proxy Consulants, nonché dell’Ing. Gamberale,
forte di una lunga esperienza nel settore delle telecomunicazioni. Oltre
all’impegno degli ultimi anni in F2i che ha portato, tra le altre cose,
all’acquisizione di Metroweb e alla presentazione di un programma per lo
sviluppo della banda ultra larga nel Paese a partire da 30 città, Gamberale ha
infatti maturato negli Anni Novanta un’esperienza significativa proprio alla
guida di società del Gruppo Telecom. Nel periodo dal 1996 al 1998, in
particolare, è stato il primo Amministratore Delegato di TIM (Telecom Italia
Mobile), società che ha guidato dalla nascita a livelli di eccellenza mondiale
senza precedenti nella storia della telefonia mobile.
Come
allora, Gamberale è pronto per una nuova sfida e per mettere le proprie
competenze al servizio di una società ritenuta fondamentale per lo sviluppo del
Paese, con il 70% del proprio fatturato maturato in Italia.

Potential non-operational
appointments at F2i and the chairmanship of Telecom Italia.
In an interview with the
Italian business newspaper Il Sole 24 Ore,
F2i CEO Vito Gamberale revealed his plans for the future. He is currently
running for the post of chairman with Telecom Italia, but clarified, however,
that he only aims "to become a
member of the board, for now, then we'll see”.
Vito
Gamberale should now be planning, together with the
major shareholders, his succession within F2i. In view of developing a third
fund with a 15-year time span - just
like the two former ones - and
upon turning 70 years old, Vito Gamberale decided that it was now time to offer
his 40-year experience in infrastructures, telecommunications and finance for
non-operational roles within the very same fund management company that he
helped establish in 2007, starting from a concept developed when he was
chairing the Italian highway company Autostrade (2000-2006). Therefore, no
cessation to be reported, but rather a choice for continuity in a project that
he has supported since the very beginning.
The interview was conducted
by Alessandro Plateroti, the newspaper's vice-director, and addressed some
current affairs topics, including the approaching Telecom Italia Board Meeting
(April 16th), when the board of directors will be re-elected. Marco Fossati ─ from
the Findim Group ─
presented a strategic plan to re-launch the telecommunication company through
three lines of action, based on the contribution of Analysis Mason, supported
by Boudicca Proxy Consulants, as well as by Vito Gamberale himself, and by his
extensive experience in telecommunication. Along with Gamberale's commitment to
F2i, which in recent years included leading to the acquisition of Metroweb and
to a plan for enhancing the ultra-broadband connection in Italy with 30 initial
cities, he also accumulated a remarkable experience during the 90s when he
chaired the companies of the Telecom Group. Specifically, from 1996 to 1998,
Vito Gamberale was the first CEO of TIM (Telecom Italia Mobile), a company that
he chaired since its launching until achieving a status of worldwide level success company, which was unprecedented
in the mobile telecommunication sector.
In the same spirit that drove
him to success in those years, Vito Gamberale is now ready to face a new
challenge and to offer his expertise to a company that is considered crucial
for the development of Italy, and whose 70% turnover is originated within the
country.
